Okay, so one of the things I do to pass the time lately is read. Like, a lot. I’ve always enjoyed reading and I’ve certainly done a lot of it over the years.
My dad was a great storyteller, who, truth be told, never let the facts get in the way of a good story. One he told (often!) was about how I came home from school after my first week in grade 1, upset that I couldn’t read yet. I mean, I’d been going to school for a week already!
At the beginning of 2024 I started keeping a spreadsheet of the books I’ve read just to keep track of things.
After a couple of years of that, I’ve outsourced my reading logging to an app called StoryGraph, “A fully-featured Amazon-free alternative to Goodreads” in their own words.
